IACE Appoints Muhammad Kwalli as New National Chair

The Institute of Appraisal and Cost Engineering (IACE) has inaugurated Muhammad Kwalli as its new national chairman during a conference held in Abuja. The event, themed "Engineering Valuation and Cost Engineering as Solutions for Emerging Economies," aimed to promote the wider application of cost engineering in both public and private sectors.

The conference brought together engineering professionals to discuss improving project outcomes and enhancing value for money. Ik Iwenofu, the previous chairman, emphasized the need for a structured framework combining engineering valuation, cost engineering, and economics to optimize project delivery.

The IACE, established in 2003 and admitted into the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) in 2008, currently has 700 accredited members. Kwalli highlighted the importance of visibility and collaboration with both public and private sectors to address challenges in engineering valuation practices.

The conference featured a lead paper by Dr. Zamani D.
