Ibadan Indigenes Blame External Forces for Makinde-Ladoja Feud

The Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) has publicly addressed the ongoing feud between Governor Seyi Makinde and Oba Rashidi Ladoja, attributing the escalation of tensions to external forces. In a statement issued on Monday, CCII President Ajeniyi Ajewol highlighted that it is a public secret that these external influences are attempting to create a crisis around the situation.

The council urged that the longstanding relationship between the two leaders, characterized by mutual respect akin to a father-son bond, should be resolved amicably without outside interference. Ajewol noted that there is no plan to impeach Governor Makinde or remove Oba Ladoja from the throne, describing such attempts by external actors as unnecessary and unhelpful.

He called for Ibadan elders and stakeholders to intervene promptly to manage the situation internally, emphasizing the community's capacity to handle its own affairs.
