Ibadan Elders Urge Olubadan to Avoid Partisan Politics

Ibadan elders, represented by Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, have advised the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, to tread carefully and refrain from engaging in partisan politics. This counsel comes in light of escalating political tensions in Oyo State, particularly concerning Governor Seyi Makinde.

Ajibola emphasized the importance of maintaining the dignity of the traditional institution and urged Ladoja to play a fatherly role to politicians, regardless of their political affiliations. The statement follows speculations regarding an impeachment plot against Governor Makinde, which were denied by the Chief Whip of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Gbenga Oyekola.

Oyekola clarified that there were no plans to destabilize the state, asserting that the assembly was not involved in any such activities.
