Ibadan Elders Confirm No Rift Between Makinde and Ladoja

Ibadan elders, represented by Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, have publicly stated that there is no conflict between Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja. This declaration was made during a press briefing at the Aladewura House in Sanyo, Ibadan.

The elders intervened to alleviate rising tensions and to counteract fears among the people of Ibadanland, particularly in light of social media speculation regarding a potential rift. Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose had previously alleged that Governor Makinde was plotting to remove Oba Ladoja, a claim that the state government has denied.

Chief Whip of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Gbenga Oyekola, also distanced himself from any impeachment discussions regarding the governor, asserting that he is not involved in any actions that could destabilize the state. The elders emphasized their commitment to maintaining peace in Oyo State.
