Abuja to Host 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy

The 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT) is scheduled to be hosted at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja from November 4 to November 6. Dr Lami Ahmed, President of the Ladies’ Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN), announced the event, which is Africa’s premier women’s amateur golf team championship.

The tournament will feature female amateur golfers from various African nations, akin to the AFCON in football, where participants compete for their countries. The AACT aims to enhance the development and international exposure of women and young female golfers while showcasing Nigeria as a hub for international sports, culture, and tourism.

The projected budget for the event is approximately ₦547 million, which the LGAN plans to raise through support from government institutions, corporate organizations, and individuals. The championship will accommodate delegations from about 30 countries at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel and will be played over three days, with scores contributing to the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).
