TCN Schedules Six-Hour Power Outage in Ogun State

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) announced a planned six-hour power outage on May 14, 2026, affecting customers in Ogun State, specifically in the McPherson University and Ogunmakin area. The outage will occur from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM to facilitate necessary maintenance work on a 40MVA 132/33kV power transformer at the McPherson transmission substation.

Mbah, the General Manager of Public Affairs at TCN, stated that the maintenance is essential for enabling the technical crew to conduct routine checks on the transformer, aiming to ensure continued optimal performance and reliability of the equipment. During this period, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) will be unable to supply electricity to affected customers.

TCN has apologized for the temporary inconvenience and urged residents and businesses in the affected communities to bear with them, assuring that power supply will be restored once the maintenance exercise is completed.
