TCN Schedules Power Outage for Maintenance in Ibadan

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a scheduled temporary power outage in parts of Ibadan, Oyo State, due to maintenance work on its 100MVA 132/33kV transformer at the Ayede Transmission Substation. This maintenance is set for May 5, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Ndidi Mbah, the General Manager of Public Affairs at TCN, stated that the maintenance exercise is necessary to keep the facilities in optimal condition and to enable TCN engineers to conduct routine checks on the transformer. As a result of this outage, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) will be unable to supply electricity to customers in the Oluyole area during the specified period.

TCN has apologized for any inconvenience this shutdown may cause to electricity consumers in the affected areas.
