Ibom Air Implements NCAA's Power Bank Safety Directive

Ibom Air has fully adopted the recent directive from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) concerning the use of power banks on commercial flights, reaffirming its commitment to passenger and crew safety. The NCAA issued a directive aligned with global aviation safety standards, stating that power banks should not be placed in overhead luggage bins during flights.

Instead, they must be stored in cabin luggage or kept within easy reach of passengers throughout the flight. The NCAA's safety directive is a response to serious global incidents involving lithium battery fires, which pose significant risks in aviation environments.

Power banks exceeding 160 watt-hours are strictly prohibited on aircraft. Ibom Air has also reiterated its long-standing policy that similar lithium battery devices, such as laptops, must not be checked in baggage.

The airline continues to work closely with regulatory authorities to ensure full compliance with safety directives.
