Ibom Air Saga: NBA Announces Free Legal Support for Comfort Emmanson, Lists Violations

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has announced that it will provide free legal support for Comfort Emmanson, a passenger involved in the Ibom Air Saga. Emmanson was dragged off an Ibom Air flight after an altercation with airline staff, which was captured on video and circulated online.

The NBA President, Mazi Afam Osigwe, condemned the treatment of Emmanson as a reckless violation of her rights and dignity. Following the incident, the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) imposed a lifetime flight ban on Emmanson, which the NBA deemed as unlawful and a grave affront to the rule of law and human dignity.

The NBA called for Ibom Air to withdraw the lifetime ban and cooperate with an impartial investigation by aviation regulators and security agencies. Emmanson has been charged in court and remanded in Kirikiri Minimum Prison.
