Former Kogi Governor Ibrahim Idris Dies at 77 in UK

The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement 2027 expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, who died in the United Kingdom on September 20, 2026, at the age of 77. His nephew, Shehu Ahmed, confirmed the news.

In a condolence statement signed by the National Coordinator, Comrade Adekanbi Sunday Asuku, the movement described Idris as an elder statesman whose public service significantly impacted Kogi State's history. Idris served as governor from 2003 to 2012, initially elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He was re-elected in 2007, but the election was annulled due to legal challenges, leading to a re-run in March 2008, which he won. The movement highlighted Idris's contributions beyond politics, noting his successful business ventures, including Ibro Trading Company and Ibro Hotel.

They extended condolences to his family and emphasized the importance of unity during moments of grief.
