NMA Pays Tribute to Late Kogi Governor Ibrahim Idris

The Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Kogi State chapter, expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, acknowledging him as a pace-setter whose contributions to the state's development are indelible. The NMA extended condolences to the current Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the family of the deceased, and the people of Kogi State.

In a statement signed by NMA Chairman Dr. Obari Mary and Public Relations Officer Dr. Sule Samson Onimisi, they described Idris's death as an irreplaceable loss. Idris served as governor from 2003 to 2012, during which he initiated several legacy projects, including the Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Confluence Stadium, International Market, Otokiti Housing Estate, and Lokoja Greater Water Works.

The NMA also noted his contributions to education and healthcare by constructing schools and health centers across the state. They recalled the tragic ADC Airlines crash of October 2006, where three of Idris's daughters survived.

The NMA prayed for his soul and offered strength to his family and the people of Kogi State.
