ICPC to Arraign Former Kaduna Governor El-Rufai in 2026

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has disclosed that former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai will be arraigned on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. The arraignment will take place at the Federal High Court in Kaduna.

According to a statement from the ICPC, El-Rufai faces charges related to the conversion and possession of public property and money laundering, under suit mark FHC/KD/73/2026. The charges were filed against him on March 18, 2026, and are part of a broader investigation into allegations of financial misappropriation during his tenure as governor from 2015 to 2023.

The ICPC has emphasized its commitment to adhering to due process and the rule of law. El-Rufai was previously taken into custody by the ICPC and questioned by the Department of State Services (DSS) regarding alleged phone tapping related to national security.
