ICPC Arrests Former NIMASA Director-General Bashir Jamoh in Kaduna

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has reportedly arrested Bashir Jamoh, the former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), in Kaduna State. The arrest was carried out as part of an intercept operation by the ICPC.

Jamoh was initially taken to his residence where a search was conducted before being moved to Abuja for court proceedings. Details of the allegations against Jamoh have not been disclosed, leading to concerns about his treatment.

His family has alleged that he is being held incommunicado without access to them or his legal counsel, raising significant human rights concerns. The ICPC is yet to issue an official statement confirming the arrest or clarifying the allegations against Jamoh.
