Wike Mocks Amaechi's 2027 Election Prospects in Rivers

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, made statements mocking Rotimi Amaechi, the presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), regarding the upcoming 2027 elections. During a grand reception in Ikwerre Local Government Area, Rivers State, on Saturday, Wike predicted that Amaechi would instruct his supporters to boycott the election before it concluded, as he would realize he could not defeat the Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State.

Wike stated that by 11 am on election day, Amaechi would recognize his impending defeat. He further ridiculed Amaechi's electoral strength by suggesting that winning his hometown of Ubima would be a significant indicator of his overall support.

Wike also criticized the security measures that previously surrounded Amaechi, alleging that he used soldiers and police to intimidate voters, asserting that this time, Amaechi would not have such security backing and that the people of Rivers State would determine the election outcome.
