Wike Criticizes Amaechi's Past Actions Against Jonathan

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, criticized Rotimi Amaechi, who is the vice presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, during a media chat in Abuja on Tuesday. Wike accused Amaechi of working against the re-election of Goodluck Jonathan in 2015, stating that the people of the South South have not forgotten Amaechi's role in Jonathan's defeat.

Wike emphasized that Amaechi cannot expect to be supported for the vice presidency after publicly urging the removal of Jonathan, a fellow South South politician, from office. He quoted Amaechi's statement on national television, where he said, “kick him out,” referring to Jonathan.

Wike urged residents of Rivers State to reject Amaechi in the forthcoming general elections, labeling him a disgrace to the state and claiming that during his tenure as a minister, he failed to bring any development to Rivers State.
