IGP Olatunji Disu Redeploys 10 AIGs Across Nigeria

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, has approved the immediate redeployment of 10 Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIG) to strategic commands, departments, and formations across Nigeria. This directive was communicated via a police wireless signal issued by the Force Secretariat in Abuja on Monday.

The signal, titled “Posting Senior Officers” and marked “Most Immediate,” was distributed to major police departments, zonal commands, state commands, specialized formations, and training institutions for implementation. AIG Polycarp Emeka Nwonyi has been posted to Zone 9 Command in Umuahia, while AIG Obono Nnaghe Itam is now the Commandant of the Police Staff College in Jos.

Other redeployments include AIG Bassey Samuel Ewa to Zone 15 Command in Maiduguri, AIG Osagie John Agans-Irabor to Zone 3 Command in Yola, and AIG Monday Agbonika to Zone 5 Command in Benin. The IGP also assigned AIG Daniel Edobor Iyamah to the Department of Operations at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, among other postings.

The changes are effective immediately, and the Force Headquarters has instructed relevant departments to update personnel records accordingly.
