IGP Disu Promotes AIGs, Emphasizes Anti-Corruption

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Disu addressed newly promoted Assistant Inspectors-General (AIGs) at their decoration ceremony held at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria. He emphasized a zero tolerance for corruption and highlighted the significance of professionalism, resilience, dedication, and perseverance in their roles.

The IGP reaffirmed the commitment to a promotion system that rewards merit, competence, and performance. He also stressed the necessity for the Nigeria Police Force to build a technology-driven approach while fostering public trust.

During the event, Peter Odey, the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, conveyed congratulations on behalf of the state governor, urging the officers to excel in their service to Nigeria. Notably, Betty Otimenyin was recognized as the only female AIG among the newly promoted officers.

Hajia Zainab Ibrahim, the Deputy Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress, advocated for greater gender inclusivity within the police force.
