IGP Egbetokun Approves Creation Of New Area Commands, Upgrade Of Divisions In Benue

The Inspector-General of Police, Egbetokun, has approved the creation of new Area Commands and the upgrade of Divisions in Benue State. This decision is part of the Force's commitment to strengthening the country's internal security architecture.

The move follows a comprehensive assessment of the security situation in the state, particularly in troubled Local Government Areas. The newly created Area Commands include Daudu and Naka, which will oversee various Police Divisions.

Additionally, existing Police Stations in Ayilamo, Yelwata, Okpokolo, and Agan have been upgraded to Divisions. The restructuring aims to improve the response to distress calls, resolve conflicts more quickly, and bring policing services closer to the grassroots for better security outcomes.

Egbetokun emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Police and the people of Benue State to enhance service delivery and maintain peace.
