IGP Egbetokun Creates New Police Area Commands, Upgrades Divisions in Benue State

IGP Egbetokun has authorized the creation of two new police area commands and the upgrading of five police divisions in Benue State to enhance security in the region. The decision was made after a thorough review of the security situation, particularly in troubled local government areas where additional police presence is urgently required.

The Daudu Area Command will oversee Guma, Daudu, Yelwata, and Agan Divisions, while the Naka Area Command will supervise Naka, Apa, Agatu, and Okpokolo Divisions. The upgrade aims to ensure quicker response to distress calls, effective conflict resolution, and stronger grassroots security coverage.

The IGP emphasized the importance of professionalism, commitment, and collaboration between law enforcement and the community in maintaining peace and improving security outcomes in Benue State.
