IHS Nigeria Empowers Disabled Community with Equipment Donation

IHS Nigeria, a communications infrastructure company, donated 50 pieces of business support equipment to empower people with disabilities in the Karonmajiji community, located in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. This initiative is part of IHS Nigeria's Project Empower, which focuses on inclusive community development and sustainable livelihood support.

Titilope Oguntuga, Director of Sustainability at IHS Nigeria, stated that the initiative reflects the company's commitment to advancing inclusive development by providing tools and opportunities for persons with disabilities to build resilient livelihoods. The donated equipment includes sewing machines, freezers, generators, and hairdressing kits.

The approach aims to create lasting value by supporting entrepreneurship and promoting self-reliance, while also contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). Sulaiman Muhammed Katsina, Chief of the Karonmajiji Disabled Community, represented by Secretary Mohammed Dantani, praised IHS Nigeria for its commitment to sustainable interventions.
