IHS Nigeria Empowers 100 Youths in Cross River State

IHS Nigeria has successfully trained 100 youths in Cross River State as part of its vocational and entrepreneurial skills program aimed at promoting self-employment and economic growth. The training, which took place from June 8 to June 26, 2023, covered areas such as solar installation, makeup, and soap production.

Gbolahan Thomas, Associate Director of Government Relations at IHS Nigeria, emphasized the company's commitment to sustainable development and investment in local communities. The program was implemented in partnership with the Field Skill Dream and the Cross River State Microfinance Enterprise Development Agency.

Graduates received starter packs to commence their businesses immediately and will continue to receive mentorship through a dedicated WhatsApp platform. Additionally, they will benefit from a cash grant and support for six months.

Peter Odei, Deputy Governor of Cross River State, commended IHS Nigeria for addressing youth unemployment and skill acquisition, while beneficiary Emmanuel Etim expressed gratitude for the opportunity to acquire practical skills.
