IHS Nigeria Empowers Disabled Entrepreneurs in Abuja

IHS Nigeria, a telecommunications infrastructure company, has equipped disabled entrepreneurs in Abuja with 50 pieces of business support equipment, including sewing machines, freezers, generators, and hairdressing kits. This initiative, part of the Project Empower program, aims to promote economic inclusion and strengthen sustainable livelihoods among underserved communities, specifically targeting the Karonmajiji Disabled Community in the Federal Capital Territory.

Titilope Oguntuga, Director of Sustainability at IHS Nigeria, stated that the program reflects the company's commitment to inclusive development through practical interventions. The initiative was designed to support existing businesses rather than provide short-term financial assistance, thereby helping beneficiaries improve productivity and expand income opportunities.

The Chief of the Karonmajiji Disabled Community, Sulaiman Katsina, represented by Secretary Alhaji Mohammed Dantani, praised IHS Nigeria for its support, noting that the equipment would enhance business operations and create additional economic opportunities for families. The event included community leaders, government representatives, and partners, emphasizing IHS Nigeria's broader commitment to community development and economic empowerment.
