Ikeja Electric Apologizes for Power Supply Disruptions

Ikeja Electric has publicly apologized to its customers for ongoing power supply disruptions across its network, attributing the situation to supply constraints affecting electricity generation from the national grid. In a notice issued by the company's management on Friday, they acknowledged the inconvenience caused to residents and businesses and assured customers that efforts are ongoing to address these challenges.

The disruptions are linked to a decrease in the national grid's generating capacity, which has fallen below the 4,000 megawatt threshold due to persistent gas supply shortages impacting thermal power plants across Nigeria. As of 5:00 AM on Thursday, the national grid was generating 3,940.53 megawatts.

Ikeja Electric emphasized its commitment to working with relevant stakeholders in the power sector to resolve the situation and stabilize supply, while expressing appreciation for customer patience during this challenging period.
