Ikeja Electric Reports Lagos Power Supply Reductions

Ikeja Electric has announced a reduction in electricity supply across Lagos, citing a nationwide drop in power generation. Mr.

Kingslei Okoti, the head of corporate communications for Ikeja Electric, explained that this situation is primarily due to insufficient gas supply to thermal power plants, which are a major source of electricity generation in the country. The ongoing reduction in electricity supply has resulted in significant limitations on energy availability in the national grid, leading to intermittent outages and load shedding for customers.

Okoti assured customers of the company's commitment to equitable and efficient distribution of the limited power available and expressed regret for the inconveniences caused. He urged customers to remain patient as efforts continue at the national level to stabilize gas supply and improve power generation.

Residents and businesses in Lagos have lamented the poor electricity supply, with traders like Mr. Kemi Adebayo and Mr.

Sani Ibrahim highlighting the operational challenges and increased costs they face due to reliance on generators.
