Otti to Personally Fund Ecumenical Center in Umuahia

Abia State Governor Alex Otti disclosed his intention to personally fund the construction of an ecumenical center in Umuahia, stating that the project will not utilize any financial contributions from the state government. This announcement was made during an interdenominational thanksgiving service commemorating the third anniversary of his administration.

Otti explained that the project is part of a vow he made to God and that land for the center was acquired in 2009. He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to serving God and fulfilling promises made to the people upon assuming office.

During the service, Emma Okori, a minister, likened Otti's leadership to that of Moses, sent by God to deliver the people of Abia State from years of hardship due to poor leadership. Catholic Bishop Michael Ukpong and Archbishop Chibuzor Opoko also commended Otti's leadership style and urged him to remain focused on his good work.

The ecumenical center is planned to have a capacity of 1,000.
