Favour Ashe Returns for Nigeria at World Relays 2024

Favour Ashe has announced his return to Nigeria's athletics team ahead of the World Relays, which will take place from May 2 to May 3, 2024, in Botswana. Ashe, who previously trained in Qatar, is among the 24 athletes selected by the Athletics Federation of Nigeria for the event.

He recently flew to Gaborone with the Nigerian team, accompanied by Tonobok Okowa, the president of the Athletics Federation. Ashe has made history as the fastest Nigerian sprinter, clocking a wind-assisted time of 9.79 seconds in the 100m heat at the LSU Invitational in 2022.

He later set a personal best of 9.96 seconds at the NCAA Championship in Texas in June 2023 and improved to 9.94 seconds at the NCAA East Region final in Lexington, Kentucky. Ashe is expected to join the men's 4x100m relay team, which includes 2020 Olympic finalist Enoch Adegoke and other notable athletes.

The women's 4x100m team features sprinters like Jenif Chukwuka and Rosemarie Chukwuma, while the men's and women's 4x400m teams have also been announced.
