Adebutu Promises Transformation for Ogun State in 2027

Oladipupo Adebutu, the governorship candidate for Ogun State from the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has dismissed criticisms regarding his ability to govern, citing over three decades of experience in business, agriculture, and politics. He defended his background, stating that he has built his own success rather than relying solely on his family's wealth.

Adebutu highlighted his investments in agriculture, particularly in livestock farming, which he claims have created jobs and contributed to economic development. He identified insecurity as a major challenge facing Nigeria and pledged to prioritize security in his administration if elected governor in 2027.

Adebutu called for greater autonomy for local governments, arguing that their independence is crucial for grassroots development. He outlined plans to invest in rural infrastructure, healthcare, education, and agriculture, emphasizing the need for vocational training and entrepreneurship to better align education with labor market demands.

Adebutu spoke at a media event in Abeokuta, attended by key PDP leaders, including Abayomi Tella and Iyabo Obasanjo.
