Adebutu Seeks Support from Egbaland Monarch for 2027 Elections

Oladipupo Adebutu, the governorship candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, visited the palace of Oba Adedotun Gbadebo in Abeokuta to seek support and blessings from the Egba Traditional Council ahead of the 2027 governorship elections. Accompanied by his running mate, Lateefat Sowunmi, and other party leaders, Adebutu highlighted his family's legacy of trustworthiness, referencing his father, Sir Kensington Adebutu, and their long-standing relationship with the monarch.

During the visit, Adebutu pledged to grant full financial autonomy to local governments, asserting that this would enhance development and ensure that local councils receive direct access to allocations. He criticized politicians across party lines for embezzling local government funds and promised to adopt alternative financing models for infrastructure development.

Adebutu also committed to improving power supply and job creation in Ogun State, having already donated 600 electricity transformers to communities across the state.
