Davido Rejects Western Sounds, Emphasizes African Roots

In a recent interview on a UK Afrobeat chart show hosted by Eddi Kadi, Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, stated that he is not interested in adopting Western sounds to appeal to international audiences. He expressed satisfaction with his achievements in the music industry, which include multiple Grammy nominations over the past three years.

Davido emphasized his focus on maintaining his African roots in music and encouraged his fans to look forward to the next phase of his career. He also acknowledged the support he receives from South African fans, noting that approximately 80 percent of South Africa's citizens are familiar with and love his music.

Throughout his career, Davido has collaborated with several South African artists and has received multiple certifications within the country's music industry.
