Imo: My successor may not be religious, God-fearing like me – Gov Uzodimma

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has cautioned that his successor may not necessarily be as religious or God-fearing as he is. Speaking to a delegation from Owerri Zone at the Government House, Uzodimma emphasized the importance of a transparent and democratic selection process for his successor.

He highlighted the Imo Charter of Equity, which aims to promote inclusivity, fairness, and the rotation of power among the state's three zones. The governor clarified that the charter should serve as a guiding principle, rather than guaranteeing an automatic ticket.

Uzodimma stressed the need for collaboration in correcting any existing imbalances in the system, stating that the incoming leader may not share his religious beliefs.
