2027: I won’t handpick my successor, says Hope Uzodimma

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has refuted claims that he plans to handpick his successor in 2027. Speaking at a meeting with leaders from the Owerri zone, Uzodimma emphasized that the Charter of Equity was designed to promote fairness and inclusion, not to be used for political manipulation.

He stressed that the people of Imo should have a say in choosing their next governor through a democratic process. Uzodimma warned against any attempts to distort the meaning of the Charter of Equity for political gain, as it could lead to unnecessary confusion.

The governor urged leaders from the Owerri zone to support him in promoting inclusivity and peaceful coexistence across the state.
