Presidency Commends Uzodimma on Infrastructure Progress

The Presidency praised Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma for his commitment to repairing the long-abandoned Orlu-Mgbee-Akokwa-Uga federal road and other infrastructure projects. During a visit to Owerri, special adviser to the president, Sunday Dare, noted that the road, which has seen 80% completion, is crucial for the region's economic development.

The project, which includes significant reclamation and construction of concrete bridges, was previously neglected by past administrations. Governor Uzodimma's administration has also made strides in health infrastructure, with a 2,000-bed infectious disease center nearing completion and the establishment of an oxygen plant.

The federal government has increased allocations to the state, enabling these developments. Declan Emelumba, the state commissioner for information, emphasized the positive impact of these projects on the people of Imo State, showcasing a partnership between the state and federal governments aimed at improving infrastructure and human capital development.
