Rivers Lawmakers Allegedly Received ₦350m Each, Aide Reveals Amid Impeachment Tensions

Amid impeachment tensions in River State, an aide to Governor Fubara revealed that lawmakers in the River State House of Assembly were allegedly given ₦350 million each for constituency projects. The aide, Darlington Orji, claimed that the lawmakers had received such payments before without objections.

However, there were discrepancies in the acceptance of smaller payments, leading to rifts between the executive and legislative arms. The governor's aide defended the payments as part of normal budget processes, while Orji maintained that the claims were based on factual information.
