Imposition, poor decision reason APC lost Ibadan North bye-election – Group

A group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, known as Concerned Leaders, attributed the party's loss in the Ibadan North bye-election to the imposition of a candidate by Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu. The group claimed that the imposition of Adewale Haastrup Olatunji as the APC candidate was a poor decision that led to the defeat of the party's candidate by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Folajimi Sunday Oyekunle.

The group alleged that Adelabu's actions caused significant damage to the party, as the imposed candidate was unpopular and unqualified. They also criticized Adelabu for allegedly giving three major appointments to a member of the Accord party, which contested against the APC in the 2023 gubernatorial election.

The group warned that Adelabu's actions could harm the administration of President Tinubu and called for his removal from office.
