Tinubu Charges Envoys to Enhance Nigeria's Global Image

On Monday, during an induction course for newly appointed ambassadors and high commissioners held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu charged the envoys with the responsibility of improving Nigeria's global image. He emphasized the importance of aggressively pursuing foreign investments and strengthening strategic partnerships to reposition the country on the international stage.

Tinubu noted the rapid transformation of the global system, driven by geopolitical shifts, economic uncertainties, and technological disruptions, which necessitates a modern, results-oriented approach to diplomacy. He urged the envoys to combine traditional diplomacy with digital engagement and public diplomacy strategies to effectively communicate Nigeria's achievements.

The President highlighted the need for a shift in Nigeria's foreign policy framework, known as the 4D doctrine, focusing on democracy, development, demographics, and diaspora. He stressed the importance of professionalism and patriotism in diplomatic duties and encouraged the envoys to justify the confidence placed in them by contributing to national development.
