FG Urges Ambassadors to Project Positive Image of Nigeria

The Federal Government of Nigeria, represented by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu, has called on newly appointed ambassadors to project a positive image of Nigeria internationally. During an induction session in Abuja, Ojukwu highlighted the critical role diplomats play in shaping Nigeria's international perception and advancing national interests.

She acknowledged the numerous challenges facing Nigeria, including insecurity and infrastructure deficits, and urged ambassadors not to conceal these realities but to constructively draw international attention to them. The minister emphasized the importance of prudence and innovation in discharging their duties, especially given the constraints of a lean budget.

Ojukwu also stressed the need for ambassadors to protect the welfare of the Nigerian diaspora and maintain high professional standards. She called for a proactive and results-oriented approach to diplomacy, particularly in a rapidly evolving global environment, and underscored the significance of promoting peace, security, and economic development through strategic partnerships.
