Mbah Endorsed as APC Candidate for Enugu Governorship 2027

Governor Peter Mbah has revitalized the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State, enabling the party to emerge as a formidable contender in the political arena. Following his defection from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) on October 14, 2025, Mbah has facilitated a massive membership drive, resulting in a significant increase in APC's electoral strength.

In the recent governorship primary held on May 22, 2026, Mbah received overwhelming support, securing 380,650 votes, which translates to a 96% approval rating from 397,370 accredited APC members. This marks a notable shift in Enugu's political landscape, where the PDP had previously dominated since 1999.

Mbah's leadership has fostered unity within the APC, overcoming initial resistance from foundational members and harmonizing the party's structure. The APC is now poised for a strong showing in the upcoming 2027 general elections, with Mbah as its flag bearer.
