Dangote Launches $2.5bn Urea Fertilizer Plant in Ethiopia

Dangote Group has initiated a $2.5 billion joint venture project in Ethiopia to establish a urea fertilizer manufacturing plant in Gode with a capacity of three million metric tons per year. This marks the first private investor joint venture in the country, showcasing Dangote's commitment to expanding its investments in Africa.

Senator Adams Oshiomhole expressed support for the project, highlighting its significance in boosting Ethiopia's agricultural sector. Aliko Dangote, the CEO of Dangote Industries Limited, emphasized the strategic partnership with Ethiopian Investment Holdings and the government of Ethiopia to enhance the country's agricultural production.

The project aims to position Ethiopia as a key player in agricultural development on the African continent.
