Liverpool's Alexander Isak sidelined by thigh injury

Alexander Isak, a 27-year-old striker for Liverpool, will miss Sweden's three remaining Nations League group-stage fixtures due to a minor thigh injury, as confirmed by the Swedish Football Association. Swedish coach Graham Potter stated that Isak's injury is not severe but is frustrating given the tight schedule of upcoming matches.

Isak sustained the injury during Sweden's 2-1 victory over Romania, where he scored the opening goal in the 20th minute. Sweden is set to host Poland and will also face Bosnia & Herzegovina and Romania in the coming matches.

Isak, who joined Liverpool from Newcastle United last year for a fee of $166 million, is currently the Premier League's second-highest scorer this season with four goals in five matches. Additionally, Sweden center back Hjalmar Ekdal, who plays for Burnley, has also left the training camp due to a minor injury, but no replacements have been called up at this time.
