Afrobeats singer Fireboy DML recounted his frightening experiences after moving to Lagos in 2016 to pursue his music career. During a recent live stream, he described his initial terror at the sight of people with red eyes, which he found intimidating.

Within just two weeks of his arrival, he witnessed someone running mad and encountered dead bodies on the streets, as well as the presence of cultists. Despite these alarming experiences, Fireboy DML chose not to abandon his dreams and instead adapted to the lifestyle of the city.

He humorously noted that he has now come to resemble the "scary people" he once feared. His reflections highlight the challenges faced by newcomers in Lagos, particularly in the context of pursuing artistic ambitions.
