NABTEB Sees Increased Enrollment for 2026 Exams
The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) announced an increase in candidate enrollment for the June/July 2026 National Business Certificate (NBC) and National Technical Certificate (NTC) examinations. Dr Mohammed Aminu Mohammed, the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, revealed that 100,069 candidates registered for the 2026 exams, compared to 92,876 in 2025, marking an increase of 7,193 candidates.
The number of examination centres also rose from 1,892 in 2025 to 2,144 in 2026. Out of the registered candidates, 97,867 sat for the exams, achieving a 97.80% attendance rate.
Notably, 79,504 candidates obtained five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics, a significant improvement from 61,104 candidates (68.18%) in the 2025 cycle. Additionally, 24,128 candidates were certified as craftsmen.
The examinations took place nationwide from June 15 to July 13, 2026, with 847 candidates involved in malpractice incidents, representing 1.55% of those who sat for the exams.
