NABTEB Reports Improved 2026 Examination Results

The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) announced on September 2 that 79,503 candidates, representing 81.24% of the 97,863 candidates graded in the 2026 June/July National Business Certificate (NBC) and National Technical Certificate (NTC) examinations, secured at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics. This marks an improvement from the 68.18% recorded in 2025, where 61,104 candidates achieved similar results.

Dr Aminu Mohammed, the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, credited this success to the collective efforts of candidates, teachers, schools, parents, and stakeholders in the education sector. Additionally, 89,580 candidates, or 91.53%, obtained five credits irrespective of English and Mathematics, surpassing the 83.28% from 2025.

A total of 100,069 candidates registered, with a 97.80% attendance rate. The board reported 847 candidates involved in 1,554 cases of examination malpractice, a decrease from the previous year, indicating effective measures against such practices.

Mohammed urged candidates to use the official result-checking platform to avoid fraud.
