APC Urges ADC's Mark Faction to Follow Due Process

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on the David Mark-led faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to follow due process and cease misleading Nigerians regarding ongoing leadership disputes within the party. Ajibola Basiru, the APC's National Secretary, dismissed calls for the removal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, describing such demands as undemocratic.

The INEC recently announced the withdrawal of recognition from key ADC figures, including National Chairman David Mark, pending a judicial determination of the leadership crisis. This situation stems from a dispute over the tenure of former National Chairman Ralph Nwosu, which officially ended in August 2022.

The APC's Felix Morka emphasized that INEC's decision aligns with electoral law and valid court rulings. The Mark faction's appeal against INEC's decision was dismissed as premature, and Basiru warned that their actions could be deemed illegal if declared null and void by the court.
