INEC Confirms Aliyu's Victory in Jos North-North APC Primary

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) informed the Federal High Court in Abuja that Dr. Adamu Aliyu won the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Jos North-North state constituency, conducted on May 20, 2026. This assertion was made during the adoption of INEC's response and counter-affidavit in Suit No.

FHC/ABJ/CS/1618/2026 filed by Aliyu. INEC's counsel, Boma Alabi, SAN, stated that the results presented in the APC's counter-affidavit did not reflect the actual outcome of the primary and confirmed that Abdulkadir Hassan was not the winner.

Alabi referenced a monitoring report from INEC officials indicating that Aliyu secured the highest votes. INEC submitted that the official electoral record supported Aliyu's claim and urged the court to declare him the rightful candidate for the constituency.

Counsel for Aliyu, Yakubu A.H. Ruba, SAN, also supported the processes filed in court.
