ADC Accuses INEC of Criminal Conduct Amid Leadership Crisis

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has publicly criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for allegedly acting outside the law during an ongoing leadership crisis within the party. ADC spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi appeared on a television show, asserting that former party official Nafiu Bala Gomb is no longer legally authorized to act on behalf of the party due to his resignation and the dissolution of the executive committee.

Abdullahi emphasized that the party's National Executive Committee (NEC) had made binding decisions regarding its leadership structure, which INEC has reportedly ignored. He accused INEC of interfering in the party's internal affairs by continuing to recognize Bala's actions despite his resignation, which he claimed violates a direct court appeal to maintain the status quo pending the resolution of the dispute.

Abdullahi labeled INEC's conduct as criminal and expressed concern over the commission's recent actions, including the removal of names from its official portal, which has further deepened uncertainty within the ADC.
