ADC Accuses INEC of Bias in Leadership Crisis

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has publicly accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of bias and violating legal protocols during the party's ongoing leadership crisis. Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC spokesperson, made these allegations during an appearance on Arise Television on Thursday.

He argued that former party official Nafiu Bala no longer has the legal authority to act on behalf of the party, insisting that his tenure has ended and that he should resign from the dissolved executive committee. Abdullahi emphasized that the party's National Executive Committee (NEC) is the highest decision-making body and has already made binding decisions regarding the leadership structure.

He claimed that INEC's actions suggest recognition of Bala's faction despite awareness of his resignation and a pending court appeal. Abdullahi warned that INEC's conduct could escalate tensions within the party and called for respect for the autonomy of political parties in compliance with court rulings regarding the leadership dispute.
