Babachir Lawal Defies INEC on ADC's 2027 Election Plans

Babachir Lawal, a former secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), expressed strong defiance against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during an appearance on Channels Television on Wednesday. He stated that the ADC will not be influenced by INEC's position concerning the upcoming 2027 elections.

Lawal emphasized that the party's electoral efforts are still valid, in accordance with the party act, despite the absence of the electoral body. He described the convention as a success, highlighting the challenges faced by the party due to governmental frustrations.

Lawal underscored the immediate priority of the ADC to prevent the All Progressives Congress (APC) from continuing in power, indicating a commitment to addressing Nigeria's challenges through their electoral strategies.
