Bode George Criticizes INEC, Warns Against Electoral Malpractice

Bode George, the former deputy national chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), expressed strong opposition to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during the inauguration of the new PDP executive in Lagos State. He stated that INEC cannot dictate leadership choices for political parties and warned of resistance against what he termed "irresponsible behavior." George accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of pushing Nigeria to the brink and plotting to rig the 2027 elections.

He highlighted concerns over electoral malpractice, particularly in light of recent elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where he described the management as shambolic, citing disruptions by security agents and incidents of ballot box snatching. George reassured PDP members of a renewed commitment to combat anti-democratic elements within the APC, emphasizing the need for fair and transparent electoral processes.
