Bode George Accuses INEC, APC of Threatening Democracy

Bode George, the former Deputy National Chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and a former military governor of Ondo State from 1987 to 1990, has issued a strong warning regarding the actions of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the All Progressives Congress (APC). He accused both entities of attempting to destroy Nigeria's democracy, particularly in the lead-up to the 2027 presidential elections.

George expressed concern that the current political climate is reminiscent of past crises, stating that the country is being manipulated by a "greedy selfish few." He criticized INEC's recent actions, suggesting they undermine the integrity of the electoral process and public trust in democracy. George also referenced biblical figures to illustrate his point about the dangers of unchecked political power.

He emphasized the importance of multi-party democracy and warned that any actions perceived as favoring one party over another would jeopardize Nigeria's hard-earned democratic gains.
