INEC Chairman Escapes Arrest After Partial Compliance with Court Ruling

INEC Chairman Yakubu narrowly avoids arrest after partially complying with a court ruling to restore the leadership of the Action Alliance (AA) party. The Federal High Court judgment directed INEC to reinstate Adekunle Rufai Omoaje as the National Chairman of AA.

The court had given INEC seven days to implement the ruling, with the threat of arrest looming. However, INEC was accused of only partial compliance by uploading the name of a NEC member but omitting Omoaje's name as the National Chairman.

This led to fresh legal action being taken by the party against INEC for not fully adhering to the court's directive.
